iPhone 5 Pre Sale To Start October 7th

September 25th, 2011

Ok, so we’ve got a pretty good idea that the iPhone 5 keynote speech is going to officially happen no October 4th.  But what about pre sales for the iPhone 5?

Well, we also know from what I wrote yesterday that Apple is blocking vacations for employees on and around October 14th.  So with the iPhone 5 keynote happening on October4th, which is a Tuesday, and with Apple blocking employee vacations on the 14th which is the following Friday, I would say that puts iPhone 5 presales opening up on October 7th which is the Friday following the iPhone 5 keynote speech.

October 7th for iPhone 5 pre sales only makes sense considering that 1)  it’s a Friday and the start of a weekend, which implies that weekends are heavier shopping days, and 2) that gives Apple one whole week of pre sales prior to opening the doors in all of the retail locations, which to date are Apple Stores, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Best Buy – and that’s just here in the United States.

But it also looks like Apple is on the same timeline internationally as well.  I wrote last week, prior to us knowing about the new October 4th keynote date, that China Telecom was getting ready to take pre orders for the iPhone 5 on September 30th and start selling the device on October 4th – the exact same timeframe that’s been speculated here in the United States.

With Apple taking the approach of even having pre sales for the iPhone 5, and launching the device internationally on the same schedule as the U.S. launch, you wouldn’t think we’d be hearing rumors about problems in the production line.  But news is rampant about how Apple is struggling with manufacturing for the iPhone 5.

As recent as Friday, there’s been talk about how defects in the iPhone 5 touch panel have been dramatically hindering production.

I’m sure that with the predicted iPhone 5 keynote speech being about a week away, we’ll hear a lot more solid information this coming week.  So stay tuned right here at iPhone5is.com for the latest and greatest.

150,000 iPhone 5′s Produced Each Day In Preperation For Launch

September 12th, 2011

Foxconn, who will be handling 85% of the iPhone 5 production demands, is reporting that their warehouses are operating at full swing and over 150,000 iPhone 5 units are being produced each day.

Supporting manufacturer Largan Precision, who’s handling the lens manufacturing, touch panel and reinforced G-Tech Optoelectronics, and battery producer, is also reporting their warehouses are operating at full capacity.

Yes boys and girls, this means the iPhone 5 is coming… and soon.

Pegatron Technology, who will be handling the other 15% of iPhone 5 production needs, is reporting they will not begin shipping iPhone 5′s until 2012.

Everyone is trying to get ready, as much as possible for the pending iPhone 5 launch.  In fact, German phone carrier Deutsche Telekim is currently taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5, and this is before the official name of the device has even been released.

And stores such as Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon are establishing “black out dates” – dates where store employees are not allowed to take any vacation or other time off in preparation for a “big event”.

iPhone 5 search volume indicates an explosion

I put together some iPhone 5 search data a couple of days ago that shows Google search volume for the iPhone 5 is already exceeding the iPhone 4, even pre-launch iPhone 4 period.  And the search graph for the iPhone 5 continues to escalate at a very steep vertical.

So the question is – will you standing in line at one of the retailers waiting for your chance to get an iPhone 5?
