The iPhone 5 has just come and gone from our memories about as fast as the most recent unknown Android tablet comes and goes from the news wire. But the iPhone 5 is coming, and it’s not too far down the line!
The interesting thing about the iPhone 5 is that up until Apple has their most recent press conference (the one where we all though we’d get the iPhone 5), the iPhone 5 ruled the hearts and minds of every tech blogger on the web. And one would have to look no further than Apple’s stock price on the day the iPhone 5 was “suppose” to be announced to realize that people (including myself) were simply not happy that an iPhone 4S, not an iPhone 5, was announced. Investors were disappointed, bloggers were disappointed, and most importantly the customers who were expecting the iPhone 5 were disappointed.
But nonetheless, everyone seems to have moved beyond the iPhone 5 debacle and everyone is currently in love with their iPhone 4S – for now that is.
iPhone 5 Wish List
One of the biggest and most anticipated features that customers are (or were) looking for with the iPhone 5 was 4G. People love surfing, browsing, downloading apps, and of course firing up Facebook on their iPhone. So with the iPhone 5, people were really looking forward to having an iPhone 5 with 4G. The 4G speed would be a huge increase to the currently iPhone models that only have, at most, 3G speed. But the AT&T iPhone 5 can have 4G and the Verizon iPhone 5 can have 4G LTE – both of which would be a huge improvement from the current 3G speed.
Mashable conducted a great survey from their readers on the iPhone 5 asking them what features they wanted most from the latest iPhone. Here’s a screen shot from the results:
As you can see, the feature that actually ended up getting the most votes for what iPhone 5 feature do you want to see the most was actually a bigger screen. People simply want a bigger screen with the iPhone 5. And most of this stems from the fact that there is now more content than ever to be consumed on the iPhone tablet.
Another feature we can add to the iPhone 5 wish list of features is none other than the 3D interactive display. 3D is certainly a hot topic lately, especially with the rising relevance of 3D technology on HDTV’s. But 3D on an iPhone 5 display, without 3D glasses even, would be ridiculously out of this world.
The iPhone 5 3D display however, would require a substantial increase in screen resolution, which would also perhaps cause the iPhone 5 to suffer with batter life. It would only make sense that an iPhone 5 with 3D display would need a substantial increase in battery life capacity.
