iPhone 5 Has To Rush to Market, iPad 3 Does Not

September 16th, 2011

There’s a great write up today at The Next Web called Apple Should Be In No Rush to Release the iPad 3.  The premise of the argument is that when it comes to the tablet market space, no one is even close to competing with Apple’s iPad – so why rush with an iPad 3?  However, when it comes to the smartphone market, and the iPhone 5, this is a totally different story.

The iPhone 5 is on a mad rush to get to market in order to respond to the onslaught of Android phones.  And even with the “rush” of the iPhone 5, we are still seeing Apple delayed in its release and also reports already of the manufacturing being behind schedule.

The iPhone 5 has to come to market much faster because of the shear volume of Android smartphones, the iPad can just sit and wait a bit longer before showing up with the latest model.

It was even recommended at TNW that Apple could bypass the iPad 3 and move directly into an iPad 4 tablet.
