iPhone 5 Causes Sprint To Block Employee Leave For Early October

September 9th, 2011

In response to the iPhone 5 launch, Sprint has issued a company wide order blocking all employee leave and vacations from September 30th through October 15th.

It’s pretty much been the trend since the very first iPhone launched back in 2007 when AT&T blocked all employee leave and vacation time during the time period of the new device launch.  And every iPhone launch since then we’ve seen the iPhone carriers following the same pattern.

We know that Sprint is going to be selling the iPhone 5 along with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.  Well just to help solidify the first part of October being the release date for the iPhone 5, Sprint has blacked out the dates from September 30th through October 15th, refusing any employees from being out of work or on vacation during that time period.

Seems clear to me – the iPhone 5 is coming.  And this time period lines up with all other rumors and “management decisions” from the other iPhone 5 carriers as well.  It’s expected that the iPhone 5 will go on pre-sale on September 30th, and be available for purchase on October 7th.
